More On This Extreme Couponing

Okay I am doing all this couponing stuff more seriously lately.  Granted I have yet to have a zero dollar shopping trip nor do I ever expect to.  But, I am happy with my savings with minimal efforts.  Because I have been reading some of the things we don’t see on the extreme couponing shows or stories on how much some of these people are actually spending on getting the coupons.  So I will give you an update on some of my couponing experiences and shopping trips.  Let me start by saying I am LUCKY!!! To be able to get the paper each week pretty effortlessly and free, and I can often get two or three copies, and before you think it no, I am not stealing them.

Each week I get the grocery store sales flyers on Thursdays and the Sunday coupons on Sunday morning and after reviewing a couple of the deal sites I get emails from, I plan my trips.  I don’t stockpile anything due to storage and I do not see the point to it.  But that being said if I find a good deal I will buy few but I don’t ever clear the shelf.  I start by picking up a few my first trip then later in the week before the sale ends or my coupons expire I will go back and pick up a few more.  I usually limit myself to three coupons at a time per item.  That being said I am enjoying my shopping deals and getting more bang from my buck.  I also love coming home and telling hubby about my deals and money savings!!! Listed below are some of my deals I scored!!!

  • Tostino’s Pizza Rolls  (quick easy lunch or snack) - Regular price at my store $1.99 (approx.) On sale 5/$5 I had a coupon for $1 off 2 boxes, I used two coupons and got them 5/$3
  • Progresso Soups - Regular Price $2.87 at my local CVS. On Sale 4/$5 I had a coupon for $1 off of 4 so I got them for 4/$4 or one dollar a can.  These soups are yummy and a great lunch or dinner on chilly, busy nights.
  • Bounty Basic Paper towels. - No sure of the regular price usually $6 plus.  They are on sale this week for $4.99 for a six roll pack.  I have coupons for $1 off so I will get the 6pack for $3.99 for about $0.67 a roll

Overall not a bad savings and score with no shelf clearing or 90 something bottles of mustard!!
